Fusemachines and AID to Host First-Ever AI Expo Nepal 2019

Fusemachines and Artificial Intelligence for Development (AID) are jointly hosting the first-ever AI Expo Nepal 2019 on August 24 at Soaltee Crown Plaza, Kathmandu.

In an official press release says, AI Expo Nepal 2019 aims in providing students, enthusiasts, and professionals with free training and hands-on experiences on applied AI, mentorship from experts, platform to create AI products among others

Sameer Maskey, founder and CEO of Fusemachines and professor at Columbia University, USA, said, “Events like AI Expo 2019 would definitely encourage participants to understand AI, network and collaborate to build AI-powered prototypes.

Kshitiz Rimal, Head of Research at Artificial Intelligence for Development said, “The main focus of AI Expo Nepal 2019 is to motivate and inspire the new generation of developers, business holders, and academia to come together and showcase what we have to build up to now using the latest AI technologies and provide a collaborative platform for youths like us to prepare our nation to enter the field of Artificial Intelligence era.

Rimal added, “We believe, even we haven’t implemented enough AI technologies in various sectors in Nepal up to now, it should not be the case for the future and just like any other country in the world, our nation, and its youth has equal potential to establish Nepal as a knowledge and technology center in coming days. We want to make an announcement to the world that Nepal is ready to move forward towards the age of AI and cutting edge technologies.
