“Django workshop and competition”, which was organized by CSIT Association of Nepal and co-organized by St. Lawrence College, has been successfully conducted on September 3,2016 at college premises. The event was inaugurated by Mr. Purushottam Maharjan (Principal, St.Lawrence College). Environmental Issues, Health sector, Social Issues, Educational Sector and Internet of Things (IOT) were the project development theme for the competition.

Eight team got selected and presented their idea to judges. Judges for the event were: Mr. Manish Modi (CTO, Sparrow SMS), Mr. Karmath Dangol (VP Engineering, CloudFactory), Mr. Prakash Neupane(Co-Founder, Nepflights). Mr. Dixanta Bahadur Shrestha (CEO at Leapfrog Academy) was invited as a Guest Speaker and he mentored the participants in IT career.

Project Detail: Their project is a IOT project which uses a raspberry pi that connects to users server and helps user manage their website by chatting with it on telegram.

Project Theme: Education Sector
Project Detail: Their system includes books where every user can read, add and modify the content of the books. This system have the features that enable users to add new information on anythings. Their system’s basic goal is to promote the education system with the development of internet library which includes all the education related news articles and notes. from basic level to higher level we focus on upgrading the education system and everyone can contribute their Knowledge.
Prizes Won: 2nd position trophies to each team members provided by St.Lawrence College, 50% Scholarship in “Python and Django training” to each team members provided by Leapfrog Academy and Two, 1 hour mentoring session on UI/UX Design to each team members provided by CloudFactory

Project Detail: Their system continuously checks the twitter data 24/7 and if something wrong hash tag is done in twitter then their system capture that and inform to the responsible organization.
