Trekkers’ tracking system @ Annapurna Circuit

As we all knew that, many tourists came here in Nepal for trekking. But, a few months ago, there was a sad news that some tourist lost in a way to treks.

I read about one great news that there is a technology which helps to locate particular tourist through GPS or tracking system. This dream came true with the help of Mahabir pun who is a Nepali teacher known for his extensive work in applying wireless technologies to develop remote areas of the Himalayas, also known as the Nepal Wireless Networking Project. He is a widely known figure in Nepal, and his work has been recognized by the Ashoka Foundation, the Ramon Magsaysay Foundation, University of Nebraska, and the Global Ideas Bank.

He developed an e-tag tracking system with the help from Asia Pacific Community from Bangkok.

Kudos for great work.
